On the modern food and beverage production floor, cleanliness is a bottom-line consideration. Compromised product creates immediate losses and costs and carries long-term risks. Conventional surface drainage, like grates and trenches, creates an environment where bacteria can fester.
For food and beverage processing, Slot Drain® is the most durable, sanitary, and cost-effective drainage system available.
The linear slot eliminates traditional grates that can be weak, trap bacteria and are difficult to clean. With NSF & CSA certifications, Slot Drain® is the most durable, sanitary and cost-effective drainage system available. It’s applicable wherever floor or ground surfaces are subject to fluids or have frequent cleaning requirements.
According to the American Society of Sanitary Engineering in their publication of Sanitary Drainage Systems:
“The rough surfaces of brass and iron castings collect and hold germs, fungus-laden scum, and fine debris that usually accompany drain waste, and there is no easy or satisfactory way to clean these rough surfaces.”
Cleanliness is a bottom-line consideration for food and beverage facilities, so Slot Drain® was designed with strict cleaning guidelines in mind. Every aspect of the drainage system was considered to make cleaning effective and easy.
Regular Cleaning – Cleaning Paddle & Brush
The cleaning paddle is the simplest way to perform regular drainage cleaning. You just insert the paddle, twist 90 degrees and move it along the drain to clear the debris.
Frequent Cleaning – Flush Flo
This system is connected to a water line and can be operated with a timer or flushed manually. For manual cleaning, you can open a valve to let water flush and clean the drain immediately, or you can set a timer to clean the drain automatically at a predetermined time, such as the end of a shift. The Flush Flo system is highly recommended for the food and beverage processing industry which needs to clean its drains frequently to avoid contamination.
Clean in Place (CIP)
CIP is a method of cleaning that is commonly used in hygiene critical industries. Slot Drain® does not have gratings of any kind, which makes CIP much easier as there are no grates to remove. It is ideal for facilities that require frequent cleaning and sanitation.
