Slot Drain ® Is Easy To Clean And Maintain
Cleanliness is a bottom-line consideration for food and beverage facilities, so Slot Drain® was designed with strict cleaning guidelines in mind. Every aspect of the drainage system was considered to make cleaning effective and easy.
Regular Cleaning – Cleaning Paddle & Brush
The cleaning paddle is the simplest way to perform regular drainage cleaning. You just insert the paddle, twist 90 degrees and move it along the drain to clear the debris.
Frequent Cleaning – Flush Flo
This system is connected to a water line and can be operated with a timer or flushed manually. For manual cleaning, you can open a valve to let water flush and clean the drain immediately, or you can set a timer to clean the drain automatically at a predetermined time, such as the end of a shift. The Flush Flo system is highly recommended for the food and beverage processing industry which needs to clean its drains frequently to avoid contamination.
Clean in Place (CIP)
CIP is a method of cleaning that is commonly used in hygiene critical industries. Slot Drain® does not have gratings of any kind, which makes CIP much easier as there are no grates to remove. It is ideal for facilities that require frequent cleaning and sanitation.
After an independent 72-hour test, Slot Drains harbored significantly less bacteria than traditional grated drains before any cleaning procedures.

Strainer Baskets are always recommended to easily prevent any unwanted debris from entering the sewer system, which can cause solid build-up and costly clogs. We even offer locking strainer baskets to add another level of safety to your system.
Although our drains can be designed without the need for a catch basin, they are definitely recommended. Catch basins and strainer baskets make the cleaning process simpler and more efficient by catching solid materials, as well as things that may have been accidentally lost in the drains such as keys or rings..
Stainless steel is steel that is mixed with at least 10% chromium to create an alloy that is corrosion-resistant, as well as bacteria-resistant. This is why all of our products are made of either T304 or T316 stainless steel – to keep your facility safe.
To choose the right floor drain, begin by asking yourself some questions about where the drain will be installed and how it will be used. What application will you be using the drains for? Will there be any heavy forklift or vehicle traffic running over them? Will any harsh chemicals reach the drains? What sanitation conditions must the drains meet? The answers to these questions will help to determine the best product for your needs. If you are still unsure, contact our drainage experts today.
