Slot Drain Systems lives within the Global Drain Technologies family of brands, which provides us with the resources to invest into the research and development of new drainage technologies. The results of these investments can be seen both in our new product offerings as well as the continuous improvement of our cutting edge drainage solutions.
Our Founder
40 Years ago Glen Kehler changed the world of drainage by creating and patenting the original Slot Drain System.
Glen was a construction professional who became frustrated with the labor intensive process of installing grated floor drains.
After searching for a superior drain and finding nothing, Glen did what any reasonable man would do and built a drain to his own specifications.
The Old Way
You may have never thought about this but floors in commercial buildings and production facilities need to be sloped so that water flows towards the drains. Point drains (like area drains and floor drains) require a minimum of four slopes to function properly.
The four-slope plan creates an uneven surface, leaving production employees to contend with continual changes in floor elevations for the life of the building.
The Slot Drain Way
The solution to traditional grated trench and area drains is the Slot Drain System; a pre-sloped linear drainage solution that can be run down the entire center of a building instead of placing an area drain every 10-20 feet. This design simplifies floor slopes, saves on installation costs and reduces complex runs of underground plumbing.
Slot Drains are integrated into the concrete during install leaving only a visible slot like opening along the top that sits flush to the finished floor. This creates a durable drain that can easily accommodate foot and even forklift traffic due to its availability in heavy duty load class rated configurations.
Built to Last
We manufacture our Slot Drains from high grade metal giving them durability and corrosion resistance. While most of our drains are made out of T304 and T316 stainless steel we do offer drains made from galvanized steel and aluminum for specific applications.
Each and every drain is individually inspected by our quality control team before being carefully packed and shipped direct to your door. We take care to ensure that every Slot Drain System meets our high standards, furthering our vision of changing the world one drain at a time.
